Fwends… brings together the work of Eva Louisa Jonas and Africa Barrero-Alexander, Ezra Evans and Tom Lake, Sam Gallagher and Tom Beck, and Max Southern and Ben Stezaker. The exhibition takes place at the Photobook Cafe on 28-29 July, with a private view on 28 July from 6-10pm.

Beginning with a simple invitation, Fwends… sets out to celebrate the friendships, collaborations, and chance encounters that shape artistic practice. Ezra Evans invited three artists to take part, each of whom was asked to invite a friend to share and curate a wall in the gallery. The exhibition unfolds as a series of small exhibitions within an exhibition, where each pairing reflects its own conversations, affinities, and ways of working.

More than presenting finished works, Fwends… is interested in the relationships that make them possible. It offers the gallery as a space for generosity, hospitality, and the possibility of future collaborations, where new friendships might emerge alongside old ones.

There will also be drinks, possible toasties (TBC), and the inaugural World Magnet Pétanque Championships, with glory, prizes, and absolutely no guarantees of sporting excellence.
