Leonardo Di Maggio is a photographer and artist living in London.

His photographs range from figurative abstracts to deep space astrophotography and mountain landscapes.

His work explores spatial landscape abstraction and he often uses strong contrasts between light and dark to sculpt form and guide the viewer around organic or geometric imagery.

Di Maggio has twice won the Royal Museum Greenwich Astronomy Photographer of the Year Annie Maunder Prize for Image Innovation and has been in a number of group shows, both in London and internationally, as well as having his work printed in publications around the world.

Land, Space and Beyond takes the viewer on a photographic journey through land and into deep space. The exhibition begins with the minute and a series of images created by a unique cameraless photography technique. The viewer then moves onto a range of figurative landscapes sculpted by nature, past towering mountain scenes and up into the deep dark sky. The exhibition features a giant cyanotype mosaic of the Andromeda galaxy, a work that Di Maggio has been creating for the last seven years and one that he describes as his most challenging and ambitious project yet. The mosaic will be displayed for the first time at the exhibition and is the largest cyanotype created of our galactic neighbour.

During Frieze week, on Saturday 17th October, go on a journey through land and into space, whilst enjoying a mixture of experimental photography techniques, infrared imaging and a dance of science and art.
