THE DRESS is an ongoing project from Malindi Jo Walker that began in 2019. It’s pretty self-explanatory - each person is photographed in the same dress, posed however they’d like, with the image composed in a similar fashion, all taken on the same camera. What’s come from the project is a greater conversation about our perceived and projected identities in today's world. The first volume of the project was self published in 2024 before she left the United States, capturing the chapter of her life spent in San Francisco. Participants of this event will have their portraits taken to contribute to the second volume of this project's publication, broadening the conversation of the project to Walker's community in London.
